Ezra’s Woodland Cake Smash
I was so excited to have Baby Ezra back in the studio. Ezra was last in the studio at just 6 weeks old for his newborn, now here he is celebrating his first birthday.
Ezra’s Mummy wanted a very natural woodland setup.
This was our first Cake Smash session with our new white hard wood backdrop, which fitted just perfectly with this natural style setup. We added lots of eucalyptus and a mini pine tree for greenery. Mum loves pinecones so we included lots of these in the setup too.
Bibi’s Bakery did a spectacular job with the cake. To fit with the theme they created this amazing birch effect on the base of the giant cupcake. We added some antlers to the cake too for fun.
Smash the Cake Time!
At the start of a Cake Smash session, I take some portraits before things get messy. Ezra discovered the pinecones and just loved them.
When the cake came out Ezra was still fascinated by the pinecones and mostly played with these or should I say, he was throwing them about. But then Ezra got stuck into the cake! You can really tell from the various expressions that Ezra was having a brilliant time.
Ezra had so much fun during his splash time. He was just overjoyed splashing around, creating so many expressions. The Cake Smash is such a new type of experience for many babies who haven’t yet tried cake. Bath time, however, is something very familiar to babies and generates so many joyful expressions.
With returning clients like Ezra, I love to see how much they have grown. Ezra was a joy to photograph as a newborn and so much fun now that he is at this milestone age.
